Style Icons

Hi BEAs.

Welcome to my very first monthly features article!

This month the focus is ‘Style Icons’.. well, more specifically, ‘Earring Style Icons’..

Who do you think has great Earring style?

I’ve got a few favs, spanning all styles and all decades. Let’s kick off with Madonna. If ever there was a character in a film I longed to be, it was Susan out of Desperately Seeking Susan. I had a fair few spectacular fails trying to emulate her style in my early years. Who knew it was so hard to successfully carry off lace gloves, a tutu skirt, leggings, a leather jacket and dangly earrings? To say I desperately wanted to be her and desperately fell short is a desperate understatement!

I’m also a big fan of the classic and timeless Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy, who could undoubtedly carry off any pair of earrings. In fact, they could carry off literally anything (bin bag emoji!)

More recently, celebrities I’ve liked to follow for their earring bling are Lady Gaga and Motsi Mabuse. It’s fair to say I have a bit of an obsession with all things Strictly Come Dancing, and an added bonus for me when I tune in every Saturday, is to see what amazing earrings Motsi is wearing. She really does Big Earrings well!

Anyway BEAs, here’s a photo of me trying to emulate some Twiggy 60s style, wearing the Helsinki Sky Large Hoop Earrings from the Vogue Collection.

And here’s me channelling a bit of 80s Susan, wearing the Gold Vermeil Lighting Bolt Earrings (plus a headband.. my second weakness after earrings..)

See you next month, when I’ll be discussing Christmas Party Earring bling!

Love Jojo x
